Fairhead Climbing

The Fairhead Climbing Meet of 2019 saw hundreds of passionate climbers descend on the giant dolerite cliff in the northeastern corner of Ireland. The area has been a climbing mecca for over 50 years, and contains hundreds of routes for climbers of varying ability to test themselves and their nerve. The Climbing Meet occurs annually at the beginning of June, with visitor numbers ever increasing.

Islander covered the weekend, capturing both aerial and land-based imagery that was edited into a short film on the main day of the event. This was an unexpected feature of the weekend for many of the participants as they had not expected to see a film featuring themselves on the evening of their climbing activities. The film was licensed by Explore Fairhead and Mountaineering Ireland and was shared thoughout the climbing and mountaineering community.
